The big hookup

Will’s mood further blackens when the one patient he got to agree to the trial drives off after seeing an ambulance drop off another COVID-19 patient. Elsewhere, Maggie decides to do a DNA swab on Auggie, and Todd decides to undo all of Choi’s handiwork.

That pushes the last of Choi’s buttons and Charles has to calm them both down. “Don’t you ever interfere with the treatment of my patient again,” Choi tells Charles, who calls him out of line. Choi yells at him some more and then takes out his anger on a paper towel dispenser in the restroom.

Though Crockett’s surgery seems to be a success, the oncologist also finds out and vows to get both him and Natalie fired. After Chicago Med shows us Will going back to meet with the doctor who rejected him earlier, Choi apologizes to Charles. He explains about the terrible day he’s been having, and Charles tells him to accept being mortal.

This episode concludes with Maggie sending Auggie’s DNA swab to an ancestry service in hopes of finding a family member who could donate a kidney, and Crockett and Natalie sharing a moment before being hauled back into Goodwin’s office.

Crockett apologizes for misleading Natalie and tells her he wants to take the fall, but she reminds him that she chose to join his surgery. Goodwin yells at them both and tells them the only reason they still have their jobs is because the surgery went well. At Chicago Med, the ends almost always justify the means.

Will confirms in his conversation with April that he agreed to the other doctor’s financial demands, and now he’s got all the patients he needs for his trial. But what about his integrity?

And what would he think if he knew that Crockett and Natalie’s reaction to not being fired is to go have sex? That’s the last scene of this episode, is the two of them tearing each other’s clothes off. Obviously neither of them are so hesitant about feelings anymore.
