Chicago Med season 6, episode 5 recap: When Your Heart Rules Your Head

Elsewhere at Chicago Med, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) found himself in mediation with his ex-wife when he didn’t want to let their daughter Anna (guest star Hannah Alligood) go to Arizona. His ex tried to claim that Anna needed her more than she needed him, then threatened him before she dropped off their video call all together, leading Charles to look for a custody lawyer. What he didn’t know is that Anna had just discovered she was pregnant—something she decided not to bring up after realizing that her parents might be headed to court over her.
Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) got the bad news that her DNA swab had not found any relatives who could donate a kidney to her foster son Auggie. After initially brushing off therapy with Charles, she found him later and confided in him about her vulnerability.
Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) told Anna that she was pregnant, and told Maggie about having sex with Crockett. Natalie, who had snuck out of Crockett’s apartment at the start of the episode, swore she could keep things “casual” and brushed off an attempt by Crockett to meet up the following night. However, she changed her mind and went to his apartment to tell him that she wanted to continue their relationship.
Unfortunately for Natalie, right after they shared a kiss, he revealed that his ex-wife Grace was there to tie up some loose ends in that relationship. That prompted a freaked-out Natalie to run away and Crockett to look like “here’s why I don’t do relationships.”
