Chicago PD season 8, episode 6 synopsis and promo: Equal Justice
Could this week’s Chicago PD be the one where we meet the show’s new officer?
Wednesday’s episode is entitled “Equal Justice,” and according to the official information released by NBC about it, Intelligence will find themselves with an “unlikely” partner when it comes to their next murder investigation.
That would sound like a perfect opportunity for the show to introduce the character replacing Vanessa Rojas. The addition of a new officer was announced back in December but the character of Jalen hasn’t appeared yet (nor have the writers made any reference to Rojas’ absence, either).
Another possibility could be more collaboration with Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller (recurring guest star Nicole Ari Parker). Will she do something that greatly helps the team’s case? It’d be cool if she got out into the field somehow and wasn’t just behind a desk; after all, she has plenty of policing experience.
The other thing in the synopsis worth noting is that Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) will partner up this week. If this isn’t a reason for the show to have them discuss their both having relationships with Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), that’ll be a big surprise.
After all, that’s how Upton and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) ended up talking about Ruzek last season…

"Halstead and Ruzek try to infiltrate a crime ring and encounter a complicated situation. The team recruits an unlikely ally to help solve a murder."

Here’s the advertising spot that the network has put together for this installment. It’s got Upton, Halstead and Ruzek, and some narcotics. Once again the network is going with the “there’s going to be a surprise in this episode” type of promotion.
