Chicago Fire season 9, episode 6 preview: Blow This Up Somehow
The next Chicago Fire episode will have its fair share of conflict within Firehouse 51, but it sounds like problems that One Chicago fans have seen before.
In “Blow This Up Somehow,” Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) makes a decision that puts him on the wrong side of Captain Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer).
But viewers already saw Gallo’s risk-taking tendency make his boss angry last season, so what’s going to make this time different? Is it going to be any worse because this is the second time that Gallo’s gotten Casey’s attention in a negative way?

Stella’s already noticed that Severide is acting strange, and she did bring it up to him already—but only briefly. So will this be the episode where she seriously confronts him about his recent behavior, instead of just venting to Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) and crashing on Brett’s couch?
Audiences have already seen Stellaride deal with all kinds of issues in their relationship, and while at least this one isn’t about an ex-lover or a romantic rival, there’s only so much conflict between them that viewers will want to watch. Especially since so far neither side has taken any real steps to resolve the issue.
This might not be the most exciting episode at face value, but it could be important in the bigger picture of season 9, to move some of these storylines forward.
Maybe this will be when Stella finally calls Severide out and they discuss his concerns about not letting their relationship overshadow her career. Maybe we’ll learn something else about Gallo, or his risk-taking will come back to bite him this time and he’ll learn something. If nothing else, as the title indicates, we’ll get to see something blow up.
