Chicago Med season 6, episode 6 recap.

This week’s Chicago Med was heavily focused on problems between parents and their children, but would all of those problems resolve themselves by the end of the hour?

“Don’t Want To Face This Now” saw Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) increasingly desperate to save her ailing foster son, while Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) found out about his daughter’s big secret.

Meanwhile, Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) decided to prioritize his clinical trial work over his ED shifts, which did not go over well. Here’s everything that happened in the latest episode:

After Chicago Med reminds us that Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) is still exhausted by showing him in the hospital lobby looking worn out with multiple coffee cups in front of him, Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) is reassured by Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) that he and his ex-wife are definitely not reconciling.

The duo help a contractor who was impaled by a giant bar on a construction site, but then the show cuts to Charles finding out that Anna hasn’t been attending class—and finding a pregnancy pamphlet in his daughter’s coat. He confronts Natalie while still in shock. “I had no idea she was even sexually active,” Charles sputters. “Not a clue.” Natalie is called away, leaving him to still look stunned.

Will has a major presentation lined up for over 200 people to push his clinical trial drug. Dr. Sabeena Virani (recurring guest star Tehmina Sunny) tells him it could be the key to taking their trial nationwide. But with another ED about to send patients their way, Choi interrupts to let Will know he needs his help more. “I’m doing it,” Will assures Virani anyway.

Choi grabs April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) to help him with a man who’s passed out unexpectedly. He claims his head is the real problem, and has been for over a year.
