Chicago Fire season 9, episode 7 synopsis and promo: Dead of Winter
If you’re a Chicago Fire fan who’s wanted to see another Severide and Casey team-up, you’ll be getting it in this week’s episode according to the material that NBC has released for Wednesday’s installment.
The episode is called “Dead of Winter,” and it’ll see Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) once again go on the hunt with Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) as they look for the truth behind a fire that started at a local homeless encampment. Severide and Casey adventures are usually pretty entertaining, so this should be a fun episode.
Elsewhere at Firehouse 51, Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) will experience what is referred to as “a close call,” which has to be even more frightening since the audience now knows that his wife Chloe is expecting their first child. It seems like we can’t go more than two weeks without somebody on the show in harm’s way, and now it’s Cruz’s turn.
Could that scare prompt Cruz to reveal to his teammates that his wife is pregnant? One figures that even though Chloe asked him not to, Chicago Fire can’t string that secret out forever, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Cruz has to explain why he’s exceptionally nervous after this particular incident.
