Chicago Med season 6, episode 7 synopsis and promo: Better is the Enemy of Good
There’ll be plenty of drama in the next Chicago Med episode, according to everything that NBC has released about this week’s installment.
Wednesday’s episode is called “Better is the Enemy of Good,” and it’s going to be the tipping point for Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee). One Chicago viewers have watched Choi’s decline over the last few episodes, with other characters commenting on how tired he is or how much stress he’s under. It all comes to a head this week as the network describes him as “struggling.”
Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) has been positioned as somewhat of a foil to Choi during season 6, whether it’s having therapy sessions with him or offering comments about how Ethan should run the Emergency Department. Perhaps Charles will play a role in whatever happens to Choi in this episode.
And with Choi not at 100 percent, who’s going to run the ED? The first choice would be ex-chief Dr. James Lanik (recurring guest star Nate Santana), but he stepped down from the job due to burnout so would he want it back even for a day or two? Or is somebody else going to have to take over as Ethan pulls himself together?
Whatever happens, there should be an awful lot to talk about.

Chicago Med season 6, episode 7 synopsis

"Will runs into trouble when one of his trial patients falls ill. His own stress and symptoms have Ethan struggling to get through the day."
Chicago Med season 6, episode 7 promo
This is the promotional spot that the network has put together for this episode, which focuses on the situation with Choi. Note that it’s a fully Med-centric ad; NBC seems to have stopped doing the combined One Chicago teasers, so you’ll want to watch this one all the way through.
