Chicago Med’s Heather Headley reunites with The Voice’s Chris Mann for duet
Heather Headley never got to sing on Chicago Med, but she recently joined forces with The Voice superstar Chris Mann for another jaw-dropping duet.
Headley is known to One Chicago fans as hospital executive Gwen Garrett, who recurred during the fourth season of Chicago Med and made one appearance during season 5. But she’s also an acclaimed singer, songwriter and stage performer.
Her 2012 album Because You Need Me featured a title duet with Chris Mann, who would go on to be a finalist on The Voice season 2 as part of Team Christina Aguilera.
When Mann recently hosted the “Broadway Smashes COVID” virtual benefit concert, he teamed up with Headley again for another performance—this time of “Written in the Stars” from Aida, the musical for which Heather won a Tony Award in 2000.
You can watch their performance in the video below; these are two of the most tremendous voices in the business, and even though they’re physically separated, they sound incredible together.

Heather Headley has moved on from One Chicago to star in the Netflix romance series Sweet Magnolias, which has been renewed for a second season. Her character Helen Decatur is one of a group of three friends who decide to go into business together, as the series tracks their personal lives and various loves.
Chris Mann’s extensive career includes playing The Phantom in the U.S. national tour of The Phantom of the Opera, but more recently he’s made a different name for himself with his series of parody and humor songs on YouTube. You can see them all on his channel here.
