It’s been quite an interesting season for NBC’s One Chicago trilogy of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD.

Due to pandemic-related production delays, the current seasons of the One Chicago dramas did not premiere until mid-November and NBC’s method for rolling out this season’s episodes has been unpredictable, to say the least. While we’ve always been used to random breaks in the season and mid-season hiatuses around the holidays, the One Chicago schedule this year has been incredibly difficult to keep up all season long.

Because of the uncertainties surrounding the current seasons, many fans have been curious to learn just when the seasons would wrap in questioning whether the seasons might run deeper into the year than usual in accounting for the delayed start to the season. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the case.

While NBC has not officially confirmed the finale dates directly, TVLine is reporting the current seasons of Chicago Med, Chicago Fireand Chicago PD will come to a conclusion on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

This would seem to indicate NBC is hoping to still conclude its “Fall 2020-21” programming line-up at a more traditional pace, as late May has typically been the week the latest seasons of Fire, Med, and PD have concluded.

Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD episode counts 2021

Although the final date for the One Chicago dramas has been set, NBC has yet to confirm the exact number of episodes the One Chicago shows will have this season. Given we know when the seasons will end, however, it seems safe to say Chicago Fire season 9, Chicago Med season 6, and Chicago PD season 8 will be shorter than the traditional season.

In a normal season, the One Chicago dramas have enjoyed 20 to 22-episode seasons. This year, it seems Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD might instead end their current seasons somewhere in the ballpark of 16-20 episodes.
