Chicago Med returns this week with an Ethan Choi-centric episode, at least according to what NBC has released to promote Wednesday’s new installment.

This week’s hour is called “Letting Go Only to Come Together,” and the network has only given a few details about what’s going to happen. One plotline involves Choi (Brian Tee) treating a tennis player with an “unexpected” colleague.

That choice of wording is curious, since Choi has worked with just about everybody at the hospital at this point, so what’s going to make this pairing surprising? Will somebody else emerge out of nowhere for this particular episode, similar to how Vicki Glass (played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson) returned to the show when she and Choi briefly got back together as a couple?

Speaking of people close to Choi, though, April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) seems to have a storyline this week as the promo for the episode is all about her. April has gotten more and more vocal in the last few seasons, and been willing to break or otherwise bend situations in her favor, so will this be the episode where she lands in hot water? (As much as anyone does here?)

Chicago Med season 6, episode 11 synopsis

Here’s the network’s official description of the plot, which is on the shorter side. Choi and Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) are the only characters mentioned:

"Ethan teams up with an unexpected person to treat a famous tennis player who is afraid his career might be over. Goodwin’s new protocols cause a stir."

Chicago Med season 6, episode 11 promo

This is the promotional spot that NBC has released for the episode. It focuses on April breaking the rules (once again), which is interesting considering that she’s not even mentioned in the episode’s synopsis. So how much screen time will this predicament of hers get?
