Is Law and Order SVU on NBC tonight, and is it a new episode? Dick Wolf fans are likely going to be confused by this week’s plans for the Mariska Hargitay-led drama.

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is the cornerstone of the network’s Thursday night lineup, and especially with just having launched a spinoff, it’s one of the biggest things that NBC has going at the moment. However, even Olivia Benson and her detectives can’t stop a little schedule shake-up now and then.

This week, though, is particularly tricky because it’s a two-part question.

Is Law and Order SVU new tonight? No, it is not. Fans tuning into the show’s 9:00 p.m. time slot will be greeted by a new episode of NBC’s supernatural mystery drama Manifest instead of the latest Special Victims Unit. The Peacock is airing two new Manifest installments back-to-back in a special block this Thursday, drumming up some extra excitement for the sophomore drama.

However, it’s not all bad news.

Law and Order SVU is on NBC tonight—in its old 10:00 p.m. hour and as a rerun. The network will air a second showing of the season 22 premiere “Guardians and Gladiators” as Organized Crime is bumped off the schedule entirely. For those who don’t remember, this is the episode where Benson and her squad investigate a complicated assault case in Central Park. It’s also Demore Barnes’ first episode as a main cast member, after recurring previously.

The series will return with new episodes in May, but viewers who still want their Olivia Benson fix just have to wait an hour later.
