Chicago PD season 8, episode 13 synopsis and promo: Trouble Dolls
The next Chicago PD will be a highlight for Kim Burgess fans, according to what we know about Wednesday’s episode direct from NBC.
This week’s installment is called “Trouble Dolls” and has the Intelligence Unit investigating the murder of a pregnant woman. Burgess (Marina Squerciati) is smack dab in the middle of the action, which will no doubt be somewhat uncomfortable given that she not only lost a child but is also currently fostering one.
Speaking of Makayla, the little girl whom Kim took in earlier this season, the show is going to revisit her as well. We haven’t spent a lot of time on that story since Burgess decided to foster her, but there’s “a decision” Kim will have to make about that relationship. The promo, which we’ve included below, does a pretty good job of explaining that and how it impacts her relationship with Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger).
Will Burzek formally get back together in a surrogate family with Makayla? Will they break up yet again? Fans will have to watch and see.

It’s similar to the spot for “Signs of Violence” in that it’s teasing the shipper aspect of the episode primarily, so perhaps PD is putting more emphasis on its relationships (at least in its advertising).
