One Chicago’s most burning questions for May 5, 2021.

What are the biggest takeaways from One Chicago this week?

With every new episode of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD there’s usually something to talk about, whether it’s character development, a big plot twist, or an element of the show that leaves fans confused.

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for this week’s installments of Chicago Med, Chicago PD, and Chicago Fire.

Here are the three biggest talking points from this week’s One Chicago episodes—let us know your thoughts on each question in the comments.

Chicago Med: How long will it take for Natalie to get caught?

One Chicago viewers knew when Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) stole medication that she’d eventually get busted; the whole reason to do that storyline is to create drama. But we’re barely out of the gate with this plotline, and Natalie’s already looking really obvious.

After her mom (returning guest star Margaret Colin) developed a cough after taking the meds from Dr. Will Halstead’s (Nick Gehlfuss) clinical trial, Natalie came up with a fake story about her treating one of his actual trial patients. At the end of the episode, when Will asked her for the name of said patient, Natalie stalled—not at all convincingly—by claiming she saw “so many patients” and that she’d look it up the next day.

Chicago Med also informed us she won’t be seen on film swiping the pills, since hospital security apparently erases all their footage every three days. (Sidenote: One more reason that this place does not have great security.)

Natalie’s shenanigans are going to come out eventually; odds are it’ll likely be in the finale or close to it, so the show gets maximum drama when it wants it most. But based on her behavior, it feels like Will should already be seeing right through her. Maybe he’s just distracted by the fact that he got dumped by Dr. Sabeena Virani (Tehmina Sunny) after their previous argument?
