We’re just weeks away from the end of Chicago Fire season 9, so people are already asking where the show is headed once it finishes its run on NBC. Is Chicago Fire season 9 coming to Netflix this summer?

For those who haven’t been following alone, the ninth season has been an interesting one for the firefighters and paramedics at Firehouse 51. It introduced new paramedic Gianna Mackey (played by Adriyan Rae), who left the series after just a handful of episodes and was herself replaced by Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).

Meanwhile, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) continued trying to advance her career, and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) faced a potentially career-ending injury. And the season’s not even over yet!

But will you be able to stream it on the best-known streaming platform when it’s done?

Is Chicago Fire season 9 coming to Netflix?

Since Netflix is synonymous with streaming, it’s no surprise that subscribers have been looking for Chicago Fire on Netflix for years. It seems to be the default place to start looking for shows online.

But don’t hold your breath for seeing episodes like “Natural Born Firefighter” on the platform. The show is not currently available to Netflix users, and in fact, has never been there.

Instead, episodes were available on the competing service Hulu for years (sometimes full seasons, sometimes just the current season, and sometimes just the most recent installments).

Then when NBCUniversal launched its own streaming service Peacock, the show moved over there. Every single episode from seasons 1-8 is on Peacock, so it’s obvious that they’ll have all of this season, too.

And the good news is, because it’s an NBC property, fans shouldn’t have to wait long after the season finale to binge-watch the full season. So while you won’t get Chicago Fire season 9 on Netflix, you’ll have it on Peacock by May 27.
