When does Chicago Med return?

Chicago Med season 6 is likely to be remembered as a bittersweet season for the primary reason that the season marked the final season of the show for two beloved members of the original cast.
We’re, of course, referring to Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto who will be turning in their scrubs after six seasons as Nurse April Sexton and Dr. Natalie Manning, respectively. Both DaCosta and DeVitto have been a part of the show from its first season with DaCosta originating her role as April back in season Chicago Fire as part of the backdoor pilot that helped launch Med.
Although season 7 will be the show’s first without the two actresses, the good news is we don’t anticipate any additional departures ahead of the show’s return — which fans luckily won’t have to wait too long for.
Will there be another season of Chicago Med?
The good news is Chicago Med season 7 is indeed happening, as the series was renewed back in 2020 for three additional seasons.

The first season in the multi-year renewal was season 6, with season 7 coming during the 2021-22 season and season 8 already confirmed to be coming in the 2022-2023 season!
When does Chicago Med return for season 7?
At this time, NBC has not revealed when Chicago Med season 7 will begin; however, there are a few pieces of information about the show’s return that have been announced.
First, it has been confirmed that Chicago Med will return as part of NBC’s fall lineup meaning we can expect the new season to arrive sometime later this year — news we’re sure fans are excited about! It has also been confirmed that Med will once again kick off One Chicago night in the 8 p.m. timeslot leading into Chicago Fire.
Although no official release date has been announced by NBC, the network tends to roll out its fall schedule during the final week of September. Should NBC follow a similar approach for the 2021 season, it is likely Chicago Med season 7 will premiere Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021.
