What’s next for Stella Kidd in Chicago Fire season 10?
Our prognosis
It goes without saying that the Chicago Fire season 10 premiere is going to have Stella primarily concerned about her fiance and his well-being. Expect some good Stellaride moments within that first episode when they’re reunited (hopefully the premiere won’t give Kelly any long-term injury to recover from). Past that, the show will likely get both romantic and comedic mileage out of the preparation for their wedding, similar to what happened with Joe Cruz’s (Joe Minoso) nuptuals.
The producers might hold the Stellaride ceremony for midseason, because it’s exactly the kind of huge event that every TV show looks for when they’re writing their biggest episodes. It would be totally normal if the wedding happened in the midseason finale as a sort of happy midpoint to the 10th season.
Or, if Derek Haas wants to be really evil, he could have that episode see Severide get in peril again—leaving fans to wonder for a few weeks if Kelly will make it to the wedding before he and Stella finally get married in the midseason premiere. (It wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened on TV.)
But once they do tie the knot, it’ll be interesting to see how the Stellaride relationship evolves. So much of their arc has been on-again, off-again (remember Anna?) and Kelly’s commitment issues have been well covered over 9 seasons. Are we going to go through “Severide tries to adjust to being married”? Or will there be some other personal issue that Stella has to face? It would still be nice to learn more about her backstory, since we have yet to seriously dig into that other than the time her ex-husband showed up.
Yet with the biggest what ifs off the table, this is the time to find new story ideas for Stella Kidd. Really, anything is possible.
