Now that it’s finished airing on NBC, is Chicago Med season 6 going to be available for streaming on Netflix?

The sixth season of the One Chicago medical drama proved to be particularly chaotic. Two of the show’s original cast members, Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto, opted not to renew their contracts and so their characters April Sexton and Natalie Manning were written out in the finale (somewhat).

Meanwhile, Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) was reunited with the daughter she had given up for adoption when the young woman just happened to be one of the hospital’s new med students, and Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) found himself working with an old friend.

And Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) explored the world of clinical trials, even getting a potential job offer, but his tendency to break the rules bit him once again.

That’s a lot of information to take in, so it’s no surprise that fans want to stream some episodes. But will the current season be coming to the most popular streaming service?

Is Chicago Med season 6 coming to Netflix?

Season 6 of Chicago Med is not currently on Netflix and there are no plans for it to be available via the streamer.

The reason why is simple—Netflix doesn’t have the rights to stream the show. The series was on Hulu originally, but now that NBCUniversal (the parent company of NBC) has its own streamer in Peacock, new episodes are primarily available there. Be aware that, like most streaming services, you may be asked to pay for a subscription before you can get access to current episodes.

Though all of the One Chicago series are available on Peacock, only select seasons can be found on the free tier. This is obviously to encourage people to subscribe, since the franchise is one of the biggest things NBC has to offer at the moment.

If you’re not into streaming, NBC is running select reruns in the usual 8:00 p.m. time slot over the summer (here’s the current month schedule). You can also purchase season 6 episodes in places like iTunes, YouTube and Amazon Video. But it’s probably better to just watch the free repeats on NBC unless you’re looking for a specific episode.
