With Chicago Fire about to approach its tenth season and 200th episode, it’s understandable that some fans might want to rewatch the first season. The farther away we get from the beginning, it gets harder to remember some of those early facts—and sometimes you just miss those original characters or the early moments that made the show into a hit.

Remember that the first season had Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) engaged to Dr. Hallie Thomas (played by Teri Reeves)—the only main character in the show’s history who didn’t work somehow at Firehouse 51. Given that, it’s no surprise that she didn’t return to the series for season 2.

It also introduced Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), who appeared in the third episode as an antagonist for Casey, and the original Ambulance 61 team of Gabriela Dawson and Leslie Shay (portrayed by Monica Raymund and Lauren German) was still on duty.

Chicago Fire season 1 was a success for NBC, but not every popular TV show automatically ends up on Netflix. So where should you go to watch the beginning over again?

Is Chicago Fire season 1 on Netflix?

No, it’s not currently watchable on Netflix. The first season used to be rentable through the DVD portion of the company, but they don’t have the streaming rights for the season.

Where to watch Chicago Fire season 1

The first season is currently available to watch on Peacock, which is NBCUniversal’s own streaming platform. You’ll have to subscribe to their Peacock Premium tier to watch it, though, as the One Chicago franchise is one of the biggest offerings that the streamer has.

You can purchase the season on digital platforms like iTunes or Amazon Video, or can still get a physical copy on DVD; all of these options are fairly cheap (usually between $10-$25, depending on sales), so it might be the same price to own the season as to sign up for streaming access.
