Is Chicago PD season 2 streaming on Netflix?
The second season of Chicago PD was the show’s first full season (it had 23 episodes and was part of NBC‘s fall schedule, where season 1 had been only 15 episodes and launched during the midseason schedule). It also introduced a couple of important characters, so it’s worth watching over again.
This season gave us Sean Roman (played by Brian Geraghty), who would become the new patrol partner and future fiance of Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati). It also saw the first appearance of Markie Post as Erin Lindsay’s (Sophia Bush) mom, Bunny, who’d go on to cause her and the team a lot of trouble over the next few years.
People have continually looked for Chicago PD on Netflix, but that doesn’t mean that the show is there; there’s all kinds of reasons why TV series end up streaming in different places.
So can you watch Chicago PD season 2 on Netflix? Or should you find another provider to catch these episodes?
Is Chicago PD season 2 streaming on Netflix?
No. Netflix does not currently have the rights to stream the season, and we don’t expect that they will in the foreseeable future, because of NBCUniversal now having their own place where they are streaming their shows (see below).
Where to watch Chicago PD season 2
The go-to for this season is going directly to the source: NBCUniversal now has its own streaming platform called Peacock, which has all 23 installments of the second season available to stream as much as you like.
One big note: while Peacock has a free tier, you can’t get this season on that level. Season 2 is only available if you subscribe to the company’s paid level, called Peacock Premium. There might be a free trial available for new subscribers, depending on when you sign up, so you could go that route if you only want to watch over a few days or check out a handful of episodes.
However, if you plan on watching for a longer period of time, consider just buying the season; it’s been out for so long that you can get it fairly cheap at most retailers. You can purchase a digital version at places like iTunes and Amazon Video, or get a physical DVD at Amazon, and shouldn’t pay more than $25 usually.
Or you can wait for any of the cable channels that show repeats of Chicago PD (i.e. Oxygen, ION, MyNetworkTV) to circle back around to the second season and watch for free… but there’s no guarantee when they’ll do that or if they’ll air the full season. It depends on what approach works best for you!
