Chicago Fire cast reacts to Hanako Greensmith’s promotion

When Chicago Fire returns this fall for its tenth season, it’ll do so with a new series regular following the promotion of actress Hanako Greensmith.

After joining the cast in a recurring role in season 8, Greensmith returned in season 9 in a more regular role and she’ll become a permanent fixture on the show in season 10 as Chicago Fire‘s new series regular.

Shortly after the official news broke, Greensmith took to Instagram where she gushed about the exciting news in thanking fans for their love and support.

"“Things that make me very happy. And very excited,” Greensmith began. “Thank you so much for all of the love and support – I’m endlessly grateful. See. You. Next. SZN MY FRANDZ!”"

Her promotion was quickly celebrated by her fellow Chicago Fire cast members, who were eager to show their love for 51’s new regular and send some love Greensmith’s way!

“Yes, sweet angel queen yes!” wrote Stella Kidd actress Miranda Rae Mae in reacting to the news. “Congrats boo!” added Daniel Kyri, who plays Darren Ritter on the series.

Greensmith’s promotion to series regular also received a stamp of approval from two of 51’s former paramedics with both Adriyan Rae and Annie Ilonzeh chiming in to show their support for the newest full-time paramedic.

“Congrats girl,” IIonzeh exclaimed, as Rae took a more subtle approach in reacting to the news with a series of clapping hand emojis proving there is nothing but love among the entire cast!
