Is Chicago Med’s Brian Tee in F9?

Summer is upon us and the Fast and Furious franchise is once again blowing up at the box office! With movie theaters opening back up, audiences are finally getting the chance to make their way back to the movies and F9 has quickly managed to fill theaters putting the film on the path to be one of the summer’s biggest films — and one of the biggest box office opening weekends since the pandemic.

The action-packed film features the returns of everyone’s favorite characters for a legitimately out-of-this-world adventure that has quickly gotten fans talking. This includes One Chicago fans thanks to an interesting connection between it and the Fast and Furious franchise!

We’re, of course, referring to Chicago Med star Brian Tee who has a history with the Fast and the Furious franchise having appeared in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Tee’s character Takashi, formerly known as D.K., was the main antagonist of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and stirred up quite a lot of trouble for Sean and the crew. Not since Tokyo Drift have we seen Takashi in the franchise, but does that change in F9?

Is Brian Tee in F9?

Although Chicago Med fans would surely have enjoyed getting the chance to see Brian Tee return to the Fast and Furious franchise in F9, Tee does not appear in the film.

While disappointing, it’s not too surprising given it’s been 15 years since we last saw the character with Tokyo Drift having hit theaters in 2006. Still, there’s no telling whether the writers could surprise us in the future by bringing Tee and his character back into the mix for a future film.

Although Brian Tee does not return for the F9 film, the film features quite an incredible ensemble comprised largely of actors who have appeared in many of the film’s franchises as well as a few newer faces.

Making up the F9 cast are Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Sung Kang, Anna Sawai, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, Lucas Black and Shad Moss.
