Sophia Bush remembers Chicago PD costar Markie Post in emotional tribute

On Aug. 7, the One Chicago franchise lost a beloved member of its family with the passing of actress Markie Post at the age of 70. As confirmed by Deadline, the former Chicago PD actress passed away after battling cancer for nearly four years.

Over her decades-long career, Post starred in a number of titles including her eight-season run on NBC’s Night Court. Of course, to fans of the One Chicago franchise, Post is best known for her role in the early seasons of Chicago PD.

Appearing in 18 episodes across seasons 2-4, Post played Barbara ‘Bunny’ Fletcher, the mother of Sophia Bush’s character Detective Erin Lindsay. Following Bush’s departure, Post too stepped away from the show with her last appearance coming in season 4’s “Fork in the Road.”

Upon hearing the news of Markie Post’s passing, Sophia Bush took to social media to honor her former co-star with a touching and emotional message for her friend and frequent scene partner.

“I am just heartbroken to hear about the passing of my friend, scene partner (she was a phenom) and forever Bunny, Markie Post. Too soon. Prayers to her incredible family, who she always spoke of with a twinkle in her eye,” Bush wrote in her tribute posted to both Twitter and her Instagram Stories.

The emotional message was accompanied by a sweet photo of Bush and Post snapped on the set of Chicago PD — check out Bush’s tribute below:
