Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Med’s most hated villains

4. Brian Kelton, Chicago PD
Superintendent Brian Kelton (John C. McGinley) was the stereotypical evil boss-type character when Chicago PD introduced him in season 6. Many TV shows have the person who outranks the main characters and exists solely to make their lives miserable. usually while being as smarmy as possible. Kelton was no different, giving Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) someone to hate all season while One Chicago fans hated Kelton just as much.
It helped that John C. McGinley is great at playing the characters who are full of themselves yet also somehow larger than life, as he did on Scrubs and in Office Space. But that was the only fun thing about Kelton. Everyone wanted to see him get his comeuppance—including his one-time ally Katherine “Kate” Brennan (Anne Heche).
After she was pushed out because of Kelton’s drama, Brennan ultimately murdered the boss she’d once been so determined to get elected Mayor. He may have won the mayoral election, but thanks to her, he never served a day in office.
But if Brennan hadn’t killed him, you get the sense somebody else would’ve. He was that much of a pain in the behind.
