Chicago Fire season 10: Will Cruz name his baby after Otis?

As we look ahead to Chicago Fire‘s upcoming tenth season, there are a lot of burning questions on the minds of the fans. Many of these questions revolve around the fates of Squad, including Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) who was last seen trapped underwater without any air in his air tank and their exit path blocked.

Because of how the season ended, when looking ahead to the new season of Chicago Fire most fans’ attention has been on whether Cruz and company will survive which is more than understandable given this is Chicago Fire we’re talking about. After all, the show has a history of shocking cast departures.

However, because we’ve spent so much time fixated on whether Cruz will survive, we’ve not put as much focus on the character’s other major storyline in development: the impending arrival of his firstborn!

While the pandemic might have delayed the arrival of Cruz and Chloe’s (Kristen Gutoskie) bundle of joy, it’s expected the pair will welcome their child sometime within the first episodes of the season.

In looking ahead, the burning question emerging among fans is what name the couple might choose to bestow upon their little one. While we haven’t had the chance to see Cruz and Chloe picking out names, could the plan be to pay tribute to Cruz’s fallen pal, Otis?

What will Cruz name is baby on Chicago Fire?

At this time, it’s unclear what name Cruz and Chloe will choose to name their baby but one growing theory among fans is that Cruz might look to honor his fallen friend Brian “Otis” Zvonecek by finding a way to name his baby after Otis.

Should the baby be a boy, some believe Brian could be selected as the baby’s name, while Briana could be used as an alternative if it’s a girl. It’s also possible Cruz and Chloe could instead look to honor Otis by using “Otis” as their baby’s middle name instead.

Considering how close Cruz and Otis were and how Otis’s death still weighs heavily on Cruz’s heart to this day, honoring his fallen friend by naming his baby after him in some way would definitely be a beautiful tribute to the character of Otis.

Now we’ll just have to wait to see if the powers that be feel the same as we wait to see what Cruz and Chloe name their little one when Chicago Fire season 10 arrives this September!
