What’s next for Darren Ritter in Chicago Fire season 10?
Darren Ritter is certainly a character we need to see more of on Chicago Fire season 10. We’re just days away from the premiere. What can we expect for the character?
We’ve spent a few seasons getting to know Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri). Originally part of another firehouse, he ended up with Firehouse 51 and quickly saw Herrmann as his mentor. Since then, he’s become young blood in the firehouse, trying to encourage more from younger firefighters across Chicago.
He’s become best friends with Gallo, and the two formed a group in Chicago Fire season 9 for young firefighters. The aim was for them to bond together, creating unity among firehouses and finding ways to build bonds that always seem harder to forge nowadays.
What will happen to Darren Ritter on Chicago Fire season 10?
Ritter isn’t one of the main characters on the series. While Kyri is a series regular, Ritter is more like Herrmann and Mouch. They become the comedic relief throughout the episodes, often with their own little side stories that are purely for entertainment.
That’s likely to continue throughout Chicago Fire season 10. One of the focuses may be on Ritter’s relationship status. Mouch and Herrmann have tried to set Ritter up with guys they know, but those relationships haven’t really gone anywhere. However, it has led to the rekindling of a relationship.
Ritter broke up with Eric when they quarantined together. The time together got to them both. When Herrmann sets Ritter up on a blind date with a narcissist who previously dated Eric, Ritter can’t help but come to his ex-boyfriend’s defense. Eric learns the truth and goes to see Ritter. At the end of Chicago Fire season 9, it looked like the two had got back together, and we’ll hopefully see a bit more of their relationship in season 10.
We’re also anticipating the continued friendship with Gallo. The two are young blood in the firehouse, and they’re focused on forming bonds with other younger firefighters. We’ll likely see more of that continue.
Ritter is one of those who will put his life on the line for others. He’s literally jumped in front of oncoming trains to get victims off the line just in the nick of time. We’re anticipating more of these harrowing saves.
