Chicago Fire season 10 to feature emotional return of former character

It looks like the upcoming tenth season of Chicago Fire just got a whole lot more interesting. Leading up to the season 10 premiere, anticipation has already been at an all-time high given how we ended the previous season. While we wait to see if we’ll be saying goodbye to anyone in the season opener, it appears we’ll soon be saying hello to a familiar face from the show’s past.

That’s right, as the new season begins fans can expect the return of a yet-to-be-revealed character who seems to be sticking around for more than just one episode!

As revealed by showrunner Derek Haas via TVLine, an old character will be returning in the second episode of season 10 in what Haas has described to be a “good, emotional surprise.” Although he’s not revealed who exactly will be returning to the show, he did note that they would be back in the second episode of the new season and “going forward.”

Given he clarified that this character would be back in the second episode and going forward, it seems to suggest this won’t just be a one-off guest appearance. Rather, it seems whoever is set to return will be sticking around for multiple episodes this season.

Considering how many characters have departed the show over the years, it’s going to be interesting to see who might be returning but the promise of an emotional and surprising return definitely has us even more excited for the season ahead!
