Chicago Med season 7 premiere synopsis, trailer and photos

The wait for new episodes of Chicago Med is nearly over! After another long summer, Chicago Med is almost upon us with just a few short days away from the start of the new season and the return of One Chicago Wednesdays!

Given how we left things in the season 6 finale, the season 7 premiere promises to bring answers to all of our burning questions while also setting up for the season ahead in laying the groundwork for what’s to come this season.

Ahead of Chicago Med‘s return, we share the season 7 synopsis, trailer, and photos as part of our premiere primer in hopes of helping you get ready for the first episode of the new season!

Chicago Med season 7 premiere synopsis

As the season begins, Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) makes his triumphant return to Med and as the synopsis teases we’ll do so in helping Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) with a secret investigation. Considering where we left Will as season 6 came to a close, it’s going to be interesting to see how he makes his way back to Med and what this secret mission ends up being.

Elsewhere in the episode, our two newest docs will work to treat a young patient together while Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) and Dr. Archer (Steven Weber) must come together to treat a pair of twins who have an interesting outlook on life.

Here’s how NBC describes the season 7 premiere, “You Can’t Always Trust What You See,” via the episode’s official synopsis:

"Will Halstead returns to Med to help Goodwin with a secret investigation. Archer and Charles deal with twins who insist on being identical inside and out. Stevie and Dylan treat a young patient with sickle cell anemia."

This season, NBC has opted not to release solo trailers for its One Chicago series and instead has focused its efforts on promoting the franchise via a pair of One Chicago promos. While not quite the same as individualized promos, the two first-look teasers manage to sneak in some interesting teases for the season ahead.

In the first promo, we get the chance to see a passionate exchange between Goodwin and Halstead in which she seems to be making a plea for him to return in stressing the need for passionate doctors.

In the second promo, Halstead returns to Med and his return is celebrated by most with the exception of Archer who is quick to throw some shade Halstead’s way in the intense teaser.
