Last week on Chicago Fire, Herrmann (David Eigenberg) found himself in hot water after he broke protocol in order to help save the life of a young boy. In looking to get a paramedic on the scene in as timely a manner as possible, Herrmann called up Brett (Kara Killmer) for assistance leading her to go rogue in responding without going through dispatch.

Rather than letting Brett take the fall, Herrmann took full responsibility even if it meant preventing him from being able to further her career in the CFD.

Elsewhere in the episode, it became more and more clear that Cruz (Joe Minoso) is still struggling with the fallout of his near-death experience in the boat accident. Clearly, the writers are building towards a bigger story and we’re excited to see the writers playing the story out rather than moving on as if nothing had happened.

Wondering what’s next for the men and women of 51 this Wednesday night? Below we share the latest promotional materials for season 10 including the promo, synopsis, and photos for episode 3, “Counting Your Breaths.”

Chicago Fire season 10 episode 3 promo

In the new promo for Chicago Fire season 10, episode 3, “Counting Your Breaths,” Cruz takes center stage and it seems things are about to come to a head. After Cruz freezes up on a call, Severide (Taylor Kinney) has no choice but to relieve him from duty.

Our hope is that the move will be the turning point that convinces Cruz to finally seek out help so that he can begin working through things.

Chicago Fire season 10 episode 3 synopsis

While this week’s promo is all about Cruz, the synopsis for episode 3 puts the focus on Casey (Jesse Spencer) and the surprise arrival of Griffin Darden (Cameron Scott Roberts). After Griffin’s return in the closing moments of the last episode, it seems we’re going to learn more about what brought him back to Chicago while Griffin will finally get the chance to learn the truth about his dad’s death.
