Who plays Griffin Darden on Chicago Fire?
Griffin Darden has a big impression in a brief time. The son of deceased firefighter Andy Darden (Corey Sorenson), Griffin has reappeared to ask his surrogate father figure Casey (Jesse Spencer) for help. Casey has taken the request to heart, and the sense of responsibility he feels towards the teen could spell out big changes in his life.
This isn’t the first time fans have seen Griffin, but it is the first time since he left Chicago with his surviving family in season 3. He’s aged drastically in the years since, which have led some fans to ponder whether the same actor has played him over the course of the show.
Read on for a complete breakdown of Griffin and the actor who currently plays him.
Chicago Fire Griffin Darden actor
Griffin is played by Cameron Scott Roberts. The actor made his screen debut in the 2020 film The Last Shift, and has since gone on to star in an impressive array of films and television shows. Some of Roberts’ most notable films include the previously mentioned Last Shift and the upcoming drama Relative, which is due in 2022.
Roberts’ best known role is Caleb Haas on the drama series Don’t Look Deeper, though he also left an impression during his single episode stint on The Walking Dead. If these stints weren’t already impressive, Roberts is also a screenwriter with two credits on the series Day by Day.
Roberts is the third actor to play Griffin in Chicago Fire. Griffin Kane played the youngest version of the character in season 1, and John Bibbo played the slightly older Griffin in season 2.

It was the latter who had the most significant screen time with Casey, as the firefighter watched over him when his mother was serving jail time. It’s unclear whether Chicago Fire showrunners considered bringing Bibbo back to reprise his role.
Despite having to contend with two earlier performances, Roberts has quickly made the character his own. His scenes with Casey are some of the most poignant fans have gotten during season 10, and they bring out aspects of Casey’s character that haven’t been explored in quite some time. It’ll be fascinating to see where both Roberts and Griffin wind up by the time the season wraps up.
