Chicago Fire closing in on the title of this season’s most-watched drama

Although it was Chicago Med who finished the 2020-21 season as NBC’s most-watched drama, Chicago Fire has not only reclaimed the top spot as the most-watched One Chicago drama of the season, but it’s quickly on its way to another incredible achievement.
Through its first three episodes of the season, Chicago Fire is quickly closing in on overthrowing one of television’s longest-running dramas for the title of this season’s most-watched drama!
Are Chicago Fire’s ratings good?
Thus far this season, Chicago Fire is averaging 7.2 million viewers which not only makes it NBC’s most-watched drama but NBC’s longest-running One Chicago drama is now less than a million viewers away from dethroning CBS’s top drama NCIS to become this season’s most-watched drama.
That’s right, only 900K viewers separate NBC’s flagship One Chicago drama with CBS’s veteran crime drama which has long ranked as one of broadcast’s top dramas. Needless to say, those ratings are definitely good, in fact, we’d say they’re pretty great!

Considering the series is in its tenth season, it’s pretty incredible to see its viewership still going so strong and proves the show just continues to show no signs of slowing down. And this seems to ring true for its sister series as well, as Chicago Med and Chicago PD both round out the most-watched scripted programs for NBC this season.
