Chicago Med spoilers: Will Crockett and Vanessa get together?
Crockett (Dominic Rains) was dealt an emotional blow when Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) left Chicago Med. The characters cut off their relationship when the latter decided to move, and Crockett is still reeling from the fallout of her decision.
That said, romance may be on the horizon for Crockett. Chicago Med season 7 has spent a lot of time on the mentor-student role between Crockett and Vanessa (Asjha Cooper), and it’s clear that there may be more to their relationship than medical tips.

Who is Crockett dating in Chicago Med season 7?
Vanessa has made it clear that she has an extracurricular interest in Crockett. She vented about her feelings to Dr. Hammer (Kristen Hager) in episode 4, belittling them as silly, but Hammer gave her positive encouragement. Crockett’s feelings have been a little more vague, which seems to be an intentional decision on the part of the showrunners and actor Dominic Rains.
Chicago Med co-showrunner Diane Frolov told TV Line that Crockett is at a crossroads in his life, and Vanessa represents one of the many aspects in his career that he’s uncertain of. “[Crockett is] questioning what his future is”, she revealed. “Does he want to specialize? What is the future after Natalie? So we really will see him contemplating that and, essentially, making a change.”
As if the reference to a “change” wasn’t clear enough, co-showrunner Andrew Schneider confirmed that Crockett is “going to find a very interesting new romance” during season 7.

All signs point to Vanessa being that new romance, but it’s evident that both characters are unsure as to whether it would be appropriate. They have great chemistry either way, and we’re sure the back-and-forth between them will power the bulk of season 7.
In the meantime, Crockett will have to contend with Sarah Rafferty’s character; a surgeon who insists that she be allowed to operate on her own daughter. It’s unclear how big a part Rafferty will play in the show as a whole, but she’s definitely going to drive home Crockett’s professional crisis.
