Sarah Rafferty added to Chicago Med cast

Sarah Rafferty made a big impression during her Chicago Med debut. She burst onto the scene as Dr. Pamela Blake, a highly-respected surgeon who tried to pull rank on Crockett (Dominic Rains) in an attempt to operate on her own daughter.

Now, Rafferty is being added to Chicago Med as a recurring character. Deadline has confirmed her return in season 7 in a new press release, along with the addition of rookie actress Lily Harris. The former will continue to play the role of Dr. Blake, and the latter will play Astrid, a young patient who suffers from hallucinations.

Fans who keep tabs on the Chicago Med productions stills will not be surprised to hear about Rafferty’s promotion. Stills from the upcoming episode “When You’re a Hammer Everything’s a Nail” show her character talking with someone in an ED bathroom. There aren’t additional stills to clarify who she’s talking to, but the synopsis for the episode hints at a second showdown between her and Crockett.

Dr. Blake will be an exciting addition to the ED, and her tense first impression on Crockett will lead to some exciting drama between surgeries. The network must have taken note of the sparks that flew between Rafferty and the rest of the cast, as she held her own with nearly every character she encountered.

Rafferty is a TV veteran best known for her starring role on Suits. She played the role of Donna Paulson for 9 seasons, picking up nominations for throughout. Since the show wrapped in 2019, Rafferty has popped up in a number of high-profile shows, including Grey’s Anatomy and the TV movie All Things Valentine.
