Chicago Fire spoilers: Stella Kidd to return before end of 2021

There has been a lot of change at Firehouse 51 this season, what with Casey’s (Jesse Spencer) departure in the fifth hour of the season and the domino effect it has triggered. However, the bigger mystery this season of Chicago Fire has been the future of one Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) who has been conspicuously missing for a large portion of the season.

While it’s not uncommon for a character to miss the occasional episode here and there on a show, Kidd has been missing for several episodes now leaving many fans to question whether she might have followed Casey’s lead in leaving the Windy City for good.

Although there has been reason for concern, the good news is that Kidd hasn’t gone anywhere. Even better? She’ll be back before 2021 comes to an end!

Where is Kidd on Chicago Fire?

After kicking off the season in Chicago, Kidd left town to help set up some Girls on Fire programs outside the Chicago area. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the chance to see Kidd actually working to establish these new programs as we’ve only heard about the work she’s doing through updates casually snuck into recent episodes by the various members of 51.

When will Stella Kidd be back on Chicago Fire?

While Kidd most recently was said to have extended her furlough in order to continue the work she’s doing and it remains unclear when she’ll return to Chicago, we do know she’ll be back sometime before the show goes on its winter break.

As Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas revealed to TVLine, Kidd will return to our screens “before the end of this calendar year.” Although no exact return date has been set, there are only a few episodes left before the show takes a break for the holidays.

It’s possible Kidd could return in the eighth hour of the season; however, the show hasn’t teased her return leaving us to question whether we might have to wait until December to see Kidd return — perhaps in the upcoming holiday episode.

Regardless of when Kidd returns, the good news is that we know Kidd will be back in action in the next episode or two!
