Chicago Med season 7 fall finale confirmed to be a holiday episode
By Cody Schultz
It seems the holiday season is coming early for Chicago Med fans!
From the moment NBC revealed the title for the Chicago Med season 7 finale to be “Secret Santa Has A Gift For You,” speculation has been growing over whether the network was about to roll out a full-on holiday episode.
If there was ever any doubt before, the network seems to have confirmed Med will be decking the halls a bit early this year with an episode set at the holidays.
While the episode title was a major hint, we’ve seen the One Chicago franchise use holiday-themed episodes in the past without doing a full-fledged holiday episode but if the first-look photos from the episode are any indication it appears Med will indeed be going all-in with a holiday infused fall finale complete with festive holiday sweaters, holiday decors and even a visit from Santa!
When is the Chicago Med season 7 fall finale?
The Chicago Med fall finale will air Wednesday, Dec 8 at 8/7c on NBC, kicking off a night of new One Chicago episodes.

While the finale’s images go heavy on the holiday content with photos filled with the men and women of Med rocking holiday attire, decorations filling the hospital and a holiday event of some sort seeming to take place, the doctors will have a lot on their hands this week on the medical front as well.
From Crockett (Dominic Rains) and Pamela (Sarah Rafferty) teaming up with Abrams (Brennan Brown) to save a patient in need of a new liver to Dylan (Guy Lockard) and Will (Nick Gehlfuss) working to save the life of a four-month-old patient, there will be plenty of action in the final hour of 2021.
When will Chicago Med return in 2022?
Following its fall finale on Dec. 8, Chicago Med will be taking three weeks off and will return with its first new episode of 2022 on Jan. 5!
