Chicago Med ends 2021 as most-watched medical drama of the season

The 2021-22 fall season has been off to quite a start for NBC’s trio of One Chicago dramas with Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD enjoying another incredible season throughout the first weeks of the new fall season.
Thus far this season, the One Chicago series are holding down the top three viewership totals at NBC as the network’s three most-watched scripted series of the 2021-22 season with Fire taking the top spot followed by Med and PD.
While Fire has secured the top spot among NBC’s scripted series, Chicago Med has emerged as the most-watched medical drama of the 2021-22 fall season in total viewers!

As 2021 nears its end and the broadcast networks send their hit series on break, the final totals for this season’s fall programs are coming in and Chicago Med has scored a major victory over its competition to become the most-watched medical drama of the 2021-22 season, thus far!
Season-to-date, Chicago Med is averaging 6.7 million total viewers weekly which is 63% higher than the second most-watched medical drama of the season, ABC’s veteran series Grey’s Anatomy which is averaging 4.1 million total viewers through its fall finale.

Even more impressive is the fact that Med‘s average viewership is higher than the combined total number of viewers by the final two medical dramas of the fall season: New Amsterdam and The Resident. Season-to-date, New Amsterdam is averaging 3.2 million total viewers making it the third most-watched medical drama of the 2021-22 season while The Resident is averaging 3 million total viewers this season.
Of course, the season still has several months ahead but it’s quite exciting to see Chicago Med outperforming its competitors through the fall and goes to show NBC’s medical drama shows no signs of slowing down!
