Chicago Fire: Did Severide cheat on Kidd with Seager?

Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) is at a romantic crossroads. The character is still reeling from the return of Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and trying to find his footing within a relationship that used to be rock solid.

To further complicate matters, Severide has been getting close to Wendy Seager (Andy Allo) in Kidd’s absence. The arson investigator has made it clear that she’s interested in Severide, and the veteran firefighter has done little to discourage her. But did Severide actually cheat on Kidd?

Here’s a rundown of Severide and Seager’s relationship and where they’re headed next.

Are Severide and Seager dating on Chicago Fire?

Severide and Seager have worked a handful of cases together in season 10, but the latter has brought the professional into the slightly personal by inviting Severide out for drinks on more than one occasion (Severide has only accepted once). She’s also tried to pull him away from his work at the 51 and urged him to join the arson investigation unit, given his talent for detection.

Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas discussed the tricky dynamic during a recent interview with TV Guide. “That makes it fun for us, to be able to push him into those stories and pull them back out”, he explained. “There’ll be a few more of those before the year is over. You haven’t seen the last of Seager.”

We’re confident that Seager will continue to pursue Severide, but the pair have not cheated or crossed any romantic boundaries. The show has done nothing to suggest that Severide has been anything but faithful to Kidd while she was promoting the Girls on Fire program.

Severide’s faithfulness doesn’t guarantee that his relationship with Kidd is going to be smooth sailing. The couple are still working through the issues that were raised by Kidd’s silence on the road, and actress Miranda Rae Mayo has stated that there’s going to be lots of Stellaride drama throughout the rest of season 10. “I think they love each other and they just, you know, they continue to choose each other and it’s been beautiful to watch”, she told CinemaBlend.

In the event that Severide and Kidd do split up, and the former is left to carry on single, it’s still unlikely that he will jump into a relationship with Seager. It’s much more likely that he would carry on a professional relationship with her regardless of what happens.
