It looks like Joe Minoso is setting his sights on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is hoping to catch Marvel’s attention as casting begins on one of Marvel Studios.

Best known among One Chicago fans for portraying Chicago Fire‘s loveable Joe Cruz, Minoso seems to have set his sights on a dream role within one of the biggest movie franchises of all time and is making his interest known to the team at Marvel.

After being told by a fan on Twitter that he favors actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Minoso used the compliment to inform Marvel why he should be cast in one of their upcoming projects via a hilarious reply.

“You hear that Marvel! I look like a rock!!! Just in case you’re looking for the perfect actor to play BEN GRIMM aka THE THING!” Minoso wrote.

For those unfamiliar with the character, The Thing is a core member of the Fantastic Four who is transformed into a super-strong, rock-like creature after being exposed to high levels of cosmic radiation. While the character is often judged by his tough exterior, the character is known for his heart of gold so there are definitely parallels between Ben Grimm and Joe Cruz.

Has Marvel cast anyone for its Fantastic Four movie?

As of January 2022, Marvel has not yet announced any casting choices for its long in development Fantastic Four movie which isn’t unusual for the studio which tends to keep its casting decisions under wraps for as long as possible.

That said, reports have recently surfaced from several reliable sources which suggest Marvel is currently working on casting the key roles in Jon Watt’s upcoming film. In other words, now is the perfect time for Joe Minoso to begin his official campaign in hopes of getting Marvel’s attention!

It would be interesting to see if Minoso decides to pursue the role or was simply joking about his interest on Twitter. If he were to land the role, it could definitely complicate his future on Chicago Fire as Marvel movies tend to take several months to film.
