Who plays Violet on Chicago Fire?

Violet Mikami has rapidly become a key player on Chicago Fire. The character was introduced in season 8 and is now the focus of several different subplots, in addition to being best friends with Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).

Recent developments between Violet and Chief Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas) have provided the EMT with the most unexpected love interest she’s had to date, and given the interest surrounding her future, some fans may be curious to learn about the actress who plays her.

Who is Violet dating on Chicago Fire?

Violet is played by Hanako Greensmith. As the daughter of two classically trained musicians, she’s cultivated an interest in all mediums of art including music and theatre.

She mounted her first ever musical in 2018, which was titled Halona and Ophelia and led to her being cast in a production of the Perry Lang-directed play An Interview with God. You can watch some of Greensmith’s acting showcases by clicking on her website here.

The actress found success quickly after making her TV debut on an episode of Bull in 2018. She followed that stint up with roles in the short film Cave XR and the One Chicago-adjacent show FBI before landing the part of Violet on Chicago Fire in 2020.

While Greensmith has yet to participate in a full-fledged One Chicago crossover, she has gotten a chance to appear at the end of the Chicago Med episode “Some Things Are Worth the Risk”.

During a recent interview with Fan Girlish, the actress revealed that she’s grown more comfortable with the part of Violent and has been able to bring more of herself to the screen in season 10.

"“I would love to see her kind of have to grapple with something on [more dramatic] terms, just so we can see a little bit more of what makes her her, so we can get her to understand more of why she is the way she is”, she noted."

Given the exciting dramatic possibilities teased by Violet’s love triangle with Chief Hawkins and the lovesick Gallo (Alberto Rosende), it looks like Greensmith is going to get plenty of opportunities to explore different sides of the character’s personality.
