By Cody Schultz
With 2022 underway, we’ve officially reached the point of the fall season when networks begin making decisions about their fall lineup in handing out renewals or looking to cancel series that have been underperforming.
In a usual year, renewal and cancellation orders typically begin coming between late January all the way into May as networks determine the fates of their series as they start to think about their lines up for the next season.
As we begin looking ahead to May, is Chicago Fire among the series in danger of cancellation or has the series already been renewed for the 2022-23 season?
Is Chicago Fire canceled?
While fans of many series will have to wait to learn whether their favorite shows will be coming back, Chicago Fire fans can rest at ease as the series has not been canceled. Instead, it has already been renewed for the 2022-23 season ensuring the series will continue for at least one more season beyond its current tenth season.
As fans will recall, NBC handed out a surprise 3-season renewal to its entire One Chicago slate back in early 2020. This included a ninth, tenth and eleventh season for the flagship One Chicago drama which means there will be at least eleven seasons of Chicago Fire.

Considering the series remains one of NBC’s top dramas to date, we don’t anticipate Chicago Fire coming to an end after its eleventh season; however, it will be interesting to see if NBC ends up handing out another multi-season renewal when the time comes to determine the show’s fate next year.
