Darius Walker was a menacing presence on Chicago PD. The crime boss had a target on his back from the moment he encountered the IU, and his rivalry with Voight (Jason Beghe) resulted in a death that ranks among the most gruesome and memorable in the entire show.

Walker perished in the season 7 episode “The Devil You Know”, as a bloody corpse laid across a pool table with a pool ball in his mouth and a dead rat strung up over him. Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) was at the center of the character’s death, in what led to one of her darkest story arcs to date.

All things considered, though, some fans may be curious about the actor playing Walker, and whether they’ve seen him before.

What happened to Darius Walker on Chicago PD?

Walker is played by American actor Michael Beach. The Julliard graduate has been acting regularly since 1986, when he appeared in the TV movie Vengeance: The Story of Tony Cimo. Beach’s profile rose significantly by the end of the decade, thanks to supporting roles in beloved cult films like The Abyss, Lean on Me (both 1989), and Internal Affairs (1990).

Beach continued to land juicy bit parts in the 90s, with some of his memorable films including One False Move (1992), True Romance (1993), and Waiting to Exhale (1995). In the 21st century, he’s probably best known for playing Detective Sendal in Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013).

The actor has appeared on just about every big show of the last four decades. He’s made cameos in NYPD Blue, Criminal Minds, and Grey’s Anatomy, just to name a few. He’s also a veteran of the Dick Wolf universe, having appeared in both Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU.

Beach’s stint as Darius Walker was his first and only time in the One Chicago universe, though his performance has ensured that he will go down as one of PD‘s most menacing foes. Since Walker was killed off in 2020, Beach has found work on shows like Stumptown and Mayors of Kingstown.
