One of the things that has always made the One Chicago franchise special is the interconnectivity of the three shows. While there are many TV franchise universes out there, the One Chicago franchise has created an interconnected universe that frequently sees the characters from Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD crossover between shows organically on a consistent basis.

In addition to those smaller crossovers across the franchise, the creative teams behind the shows have treated fans to annual One Chicago crossover events that have seen the casts of the three shows come together for a multi-episode event. The crossovers are often among the most-talked-about episodes of the season and are always make for must-see TV.

Traditionally, we’ve been treated to an annual One Chicago crossover event each season; however, it’s more than two years since we last saw NBC pull off a crossover event between Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD and it’s, unfortunately, looking more and more unlikely we’ll be getting a major crossover between the three shows this season.

Will there be a One Chicago crossover this season?

During a recent interview with TV Insider, Chicago Med showrunners Diane Frolov and Andrew  Schneider spoke candidly about the odds of a One Chicago crossover happening this season and let’s just say we’re not anticipating a major crossover between Chicago Fire, Med and PD happening anytime soon.

As Frolov revealed, there are currently no plans in place for a major crossover between the three series this season — which supports previous comments made by Chicago Fire‘s showrunner.

Although there are no plans for a major crossover between the shows, there is some good news for fans who love seeing the characters from the various series crossing over across the three series.

While Frolov noted there are no plans for a major crossover, the creative teams are working on minor crossovers with Schneider adding that fans can look forward to seeing the “Fire and PD people on our show and vice versa.”
