Chicago Fire has made some major casting changes in season 10. We’ve seen the departure of the beloved Casey (Jesse Spencer) and the arrival of the likable Pelham (Brett Dalton) in his place.

We’ve also seen the increased screen time of side characters like Chief Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas), who’s currently in the midst of a love triangle. But Chicago PD has even more casting news up its sleeve.

TV Line has confirmed that Caitlin Carver will be joining the show before the end of the current season. Here’s what we know about the actress and her character.

Who does Caitlin Carver play in Chicago Fire?

Carver has been cast as a paramedic who will recur during the second half of season 10. There are not yet details on her character’s name or backstory, but its possible that she could fill in for one of the medic roles at the 51.

The 51 has had no shortage of paramedic turnover during the last decade, with characters like Leslie Shay (Lauren German), Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett) occupying the role before they departed.

In total, eight characters have worked as paramedics at the firehouse, which puts Carver’s character in good company.

Despite only being 29, Carver has a spectacularly varied resume. She worked as a professional dancer early in her career, and was able to perform alongside pop stars like Pitbull and Beyonce before making the switch to acting.

She made her screen debut in the Disney series So Random! in 2012, and has since gone on to appear in popular titles like Glee, NCIS, and Parks and Recreation. She’s perhaps best known for playing Muffy Tuttle on the popular Netflix drama Dear White People.

Carver has also made a splash on the big screen, appearing in the romantic comedy Paper Towns in 2015 and the Warren Beatty drama Rules Don’t Apply in 2016. She also played Nancy Kerrigan in the acclaimed biographical drama I, Tonya in 2017. We can’t wait to see the unique energy she brings to the 51.
