When it comes to Chicago Fire, the show has no shortage of incredible recurring characters who have popped up over the years in supporting roles.

These characters might not always play the largest role on the show but are just as beloved by the fans and important to the stories being told through the show’s key characters. Among the show’s many incredible supporting characters are the men and women behind 51’s everyday heroes.

We’re, of course, referring to the loved ones of 51’s finest which includes some truly amazing guest actors including Melissa Ponzio, who has recurred as Boden’s wife, Donna, since season 2. While Ponzio appeared frequently as Donna following her introduction in season 2, recent years have seen less and less of the fan-favorite character.

In fact, Donna only made one appearance in season 9 and has yet to appear in season 10. While there had been hope among fans that we could see Donna return sometime this season, the odds of Donna making an appearance aren’t looking good.

Melissa Ponzio unlikely to return in Chicago Fire season 10

While there is a chance NBC could find a way to bring Melissa Ponzio back as Donna sometime this season, it’s looking unlikely due to the fact that Ponzio has officially joined the cast of Paramount+’s Teen Wolf revival movie.

As confirmed by Ponzio, she’ll be rejoining her former castmates as part of the highly-anticipated revival movie which is set to begin filming soon as Paramount+ eyes a late 2022 release date.

"“Well, well, WELL…a full moon changes the tide, so it’s the perfect time to announce that THE PACK IS BACK!! The Teen Wolf movie coming later this year to Paramount+!” Ponzio wrote on Twitter announcing her return. “We are more excited than you are. Thanks so much for your support always Teen Wolf Family…HERE WE GO!!!!”"

With Ponzio now attached to the Teen Wolf movie cast, her availability is likely to become more limited as work begins on the project. While the exact timeline for when filming will begin on the Teen Wolf movie, it’s not expected the film will be filming anywhere near Chicago which would make it difficult for Ponzio to appear in both titles.

Hopefully, the writers will surprise us and find a way to bring Donna back into the fold before the season ends; however, it’s more likely we’ll have to wait until season 11 before seeing Donna resurface in the Windy City.
