Chicago Fire season 10 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. Sure, we’re used to twists and unexpected surprises but there is no denying season 10 has been filled with some of the most surprising moments in the show’s history.

We’ve seen the introduction of new characters who have helped to shake things up for the better, said goodbye to an original member of the cast, and seen some of our favorite characters go through some interesting character development. In fact, some of these have gone hand in hand including the introduction of Brett Dalton’s Jason Pelham.

When Jesse Spencer stepped away from the show, Dalton’s character entered the picture as Casey’s temporary replacement. It wasn’t long after his introduction, Pelham was offered a permanent spot at 51 as the house’s new lieutenant — a role many assumed would go to Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo).

Pelham has been a favorite since his introduction; however, his time as 51’s lieutenant could be coming to an end very soon.

Chicago Fire set photos tease a new lieutenant at 51

In newly released set photos from a member of the show’s creative team, fans are treated to glimpses of several Chicago Fire cast members on-set between shooting upcoming episodes. While the photos are relatively spoiler-free and don’t offer up much context regarding what could be coming in the episodes, one particular image seems to hint at a major change coming for 51’s leadership.

Among the set of behind-the-scenes photos is a group shot of a few members of the cast chilling out between takes including Kidd, who appears to be wearing a lieutenant shield upon her helmet. Considering she appears alongside members of 51 in the photo, the image seems to suggest Kidd will be transitioning into a lieutenant’s role.

While it’s possible she could just be filling in for a shift, what’s even more concerning is that Pelham hasn’t been spotted in any of the more recent set photos suggesting he could soon be leaving far sooner than any fan anticipated.

Is Brett Dalton leaving Chicago Fire?

Although it has not yet been confirmed whether Brett Dalton is leaving Chicago Fire, it is looking as though his time as Lieutenant Jason Pelham could be coming to an end soon.

As eagle-eyed fans have noticed, Kidd has been spotted wearing various pieces of clothing in behind-the-scenes photos which suggest she’ll be transitioning into 51’s lieutenant position sometime soon. It’s also notable that we haven’t seen Dalton popping up in recent set photos which could be because his character will be leaving the show.

With season 10 finally returning on Feb. 23, we should soon begin to see where the season will take us next and provide us with confirmation over whether Pelham’s time at 51 could be drawing to a close.
