Chicago PD spoilers: What to expect in Chicago PD season 9 episode 16 (Preview)

Last Wednesday night, Chicago PD delivered one of its most heart-pounding and intense episodes of the season thus far as the Intelligence Unit raced against the clock to bring Makayla home safely.

Picking up right where the previous episode ended, episode 15 began with the fallout of Ruzek and Burgess discovering that Makayla has been abducted. While suspicions initially fell on her uncle, he later proved to be an asset to the team in helping to bring her home safely.

The episode seemed to push Burgess and Ruzek’s relationship to the limits and it’s clear the episode will have ripple effects as the season progresses. However, for this week at least, we’ll be shifting the focus back to the broader team in an episode that will find Voight once again turning to a familiar face for help with a case.

After last week’s heart-pounding episode found the team searching for Makayla, this week finds the team working a murder case connected to an individual who has been under tight surveillance. This leads Voight to once again turn to his newest informant for help closing in on their target.

Here’s how NBC officially describes season 9, episode 16:

"When a young man is shot outside the Cárabo Bakery, the team works to connect the shooting to bakery owner Javier Escano, who has been under surveillance. Despite the increasing danger, Voight helps informant Anna Avalos get even closer to their target."
