Chicago Med season 7 shocker: SPOILER’s exit confirmed

In a surprise turn of events, Chicago Med is saying goodbye to yet another series regular — making it the show’s third major loss following the departures of Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta.
As first confirmed by TVLine, Kristen Hager has exited the series after only 14 episodes with the show. Her final appearance as Dr. Stevie Hammer came in the fourteenth episode of season 7, “All the Things That Could Have Been,” in an episode that saw her character reconciling with her mother and heading to Michigan to try to give her marriage to her estranged husband another shot.
Hager first joined the series in the season 7 premiere as one of the show’s two newest doctors, brought in to help fill the voids left by DeVitto and DaCosta’s departures from the show.
Will Kristen Hager return to Chicago Med?
At this time, there don’t appear to be any plans for Kristen Hager to return as Dr. Stevie Hammer on Chicago Med as it’s expected the actress has already appeared in her final episode of the series. In other words, we’re not expecting to see Hager return as Stevie in any additional season 7 episodes of the One Chicago medical drama.

That said, the door has been left open for Hager to return down the line. As executive producers Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov told TVLine in a statement confirming the actress’s departure, “Her story arc with her mother ended. But we all really liked Kristen and would welcome her character coming back in the future.”
