Chicago Med has had lots of ups and downs this season. Fans have had to say goodbye to some characters and said hello to others, and the unpredictable flow of events has made it difficult to determine when season 7 will come to an end.
Thankfully, NBC has shed light on the schedule for the rest of 2022. The network has revealed the official release date for the season finale, so that fans can prep themselves and their Chicago Med binging habits.
Here’s what you need to know about the season 7 finale.
Chicago Med season 7 finale date in 2022
According to TVLine, all three One Chicago shows will air their finales on Wednesday, May 25. This is part of a huge finale week, as the other surrounding days will feature finales for other Dick Wolf productions like FBI.
Med will follow its usual timeslot on Wednesday, which means it will wrap up right before Chicago Fire and PD. Unfortunately, the air date means that fans can expect some more breaks in the next month. Since Med just released episode 17 on April 6, and there are 22 episodes scheduled, there will be multiple weeks where the network will have to rely on reruns.

This practice is nothing new for the network. Chicago Med, along with the other One Chicago titles, have had to contend with various setbacks and delays. Some of the shows have shut down filming due to COVID-positive tests, while external events like the Winter Olympics took over the timeslot usually reserved for Med for a month in February.
The synopses for some of the upcoming Med episodes have been released, and they hint at some major developments for characters like Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram). The duo have a long and storied history in the ED, and the showrunners have hinted at some interesting changes in their relationship before the finale.
