Chicago PD season 9 episode 18 spoilers: What to expect in New Guard

Last week on Chicago PD, Ruzek went down what proved to be a dangerous rabbit hole after helping to track down the daughter of an old family friend.
As if watching Ruzek nearly die from an overdose as the result of his undercover sting gone wrong while working the case wasn’t hard enough, the episode ended with a major blow to Burzek fans. After watching Burgess and Ruzek struggle to find common ground throughout the episode, the couple decided to press pause on their relationship as the episode came to a close leaving the future of Burzek very much up in the air.
This week, our attention seems to be shifting off of Burzek and onto Halstead who will be taking center stage in episode 18. Just what can you expect this week?

Chicago PD season 9, episode 18 synopsis
In episode 18, it appears we’ll see Halstead taking center stage in an episode that will find him taking on a mentoring role of sorts in looking out for a new recruit. While it looks like Halstead will be taking the recruit under his wing, the synopsis teases that said recruit’s past might raise a lot of questions — which could make things interesting.

"Halstead takes a new recruit under his wing during an investigation. The dynamics are challenging, however, and questions arise over the recruit’s complicated past."
