Chicago Fire: SPOILER to return for season 10 finale
The closer we get to the Chicago Fire season 10 finale, the more we learn about it. There have been some major revelations as of late, including the confirmed return of Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Brett (Kara Killmer), but the one that has fans surprised is the reappearance of a different character…
Jason Pelham (Brett Dalton) is also coming back! The firefighter was initially brought in as a mid season replacement for Casey, and while he wound up serving as little more than a placeholder for Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), he proved himself to be a humble and heroic character.
Here’s what you need to know about the return of Pelham.
Brett Dalton will return for the Chicago Fire season 10 finale
Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas and executive producer Andrea Newman broke the news during a recent interview with TV Line. The former revealed that Pelham would appear before the end of the season, while Newman shed light on the specifics of his return.
“The character proved such loyalty to [Firehouse] 51”, Newman explained. “It was really cool to see him bond and find his place there. And it’s nice to have him out in the world of the CFD.”
Here’s a brief refresher on Pelham: He was brought in to serve as interim lieutenant when Casey decided to leave the 51, and after a rocky start, he was embraced by Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) and appointed to full-time lieutenant. The only problem is, Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) was vying for the position, and her return to the 51 caused some professional tension.

In the end, Pelham decided to step aside and transfer to another fire station so that Kidd could be promoted while staying in the same station as her fiance, Severide (Taylor Kinney). Pelham left on the best of terms, having earned the respect of Kidd, Severide, and even Gallo (Alberto Rosende), who he initially clashed with.
Dalton has not been hurting for work since his Chicago Fire departure. He appeared in an episode of the thriller series The Equalizer, and voiced a character in the 2022 video game Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. It’ll be thrilling to see how his return fits into the larger narrative of the One Chicago universe.
