Nadia Decotis was a tragic character on Chicago PD. She was a teenage prostitute who was befriended by Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush), and the positive influence of the officer led to Nadia getting a job as an administrative assistant at the precinct.
Sadly, Nadia’s path to reform was cut short. She was killed by serial killer Greg Yates (Dallas Roberts) during season 2, and the discovery of her body provided the necessary evidence to convict Yates.
Here’s what you need to know about the actress who played Nadia during her impactful stint.
Who does Stella Maeve play on Chicago PD?
Nadia is played by Stella Maeve. The actress has had a surprisingly varied career on film and TV, despite having only acted since 2005. She’s appeared in star-studded films like Brooklyn’s Finest (2009) opposite Richard Gere and Ethan Hawke, as well as musical biopic The Runaways (2010) with Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.
On the small screen, Maeve is best known for the SyFy series The Magicians, which aired from 2015 to 2020. She’s also landed crucial guest spots on shows like Gossip Girl, Bones, and Grey’s Anatomy. Maeve’s performance as Nadia was one of the strongest aspects of the show early on, and the emotional bond she developed with Lindsay made for one of the officer’s most memorable arcs. The conflict over whether Lindsay was going to avenge Nadia’s death or resort to more just means of punishment lingered throughout the season, culminating in her shooting and killing Yates.
As Chicago PD approaches the end of season 9, and the break between seasons unfolds, we highly suggest going back and rewatching the episodes featuring Nadia.
